Abingdon Fencing Club - junior fencing

Juniors (aged 8 to 16) fence during the first hour of our Thursday meetings, but the older and more experienced youngsters may attend the later session on the advice of our coach. Coaching is provided from 7.30 to 8.30, and parents and guardians are welcome to stay and watch.

16-18 year olds usually prefer to attend the adult sessions, but pay the lower student fee.

There is more information about fencing in our New Fencers section which should answer most of your questions about trying out the sport.

We currently have a waiting list for places in our junior class. If you would like to be placed on the waiting list, or have any other questions about fencing, please email us at info@abingdonfencing.org.uk.

Herman, our professional coach, has recently spent 3 months in Hungary developing his coaching knowledge. All the club, including our younger fencers, will benefit from his new ideas and experience. He is assisted with the junior class by Alan who is developing his coaching experience under Herman's guidance.

All our coaches are on the British Fencing Coaches Register, and the committee are responsible for ensuring we meet child protection standards.
